Introduction: Let us start by reading Jn. 15:14-16, Mk. 16:15-16. From the genesis of creation, God's purpose of creating man was not only for man to honor, praise and worship him but God needed a perfect companion who he would commune and fellowship with forever. Gen.1:27-28.

From the beginning, man was having and enjoying sweet affinity with God, resulting that in the cool of the day, God used to visit and rapport with Adam there in the garden of Eden. Along the line, this cordial relationship got ruptured and punctured as a result of the negative after math effect of the the discussion between the serpent and Eve. Gen. 3:6-11. From then, Adam and Eve became defiled by sin, they, as well as all of us inherited sins. Ps. 51:5.

On seeing all these, how did God feel, and what did he say? Let's find out by serially reading all these: God then said in Rom. 3:23, Ezek. 18:23, Jn.3:17, Jn1:11-12. Now, referring to those who received him, the Lord then said in Eph. 5:8, 1Thess. 5:5, Ezek. 3:17-18, Mk. 16:15-16, Jn. 20:21, Matt. 5:16. As sinners, you and I were converted by somebody. Now that you are converted; God wants you to save others that is why he says in Matt 5:16. (Read it). But the only place where the light can shine and make a positive and effective impact is in the midst of darkness. That is why the Bible says in Jn. 1:5. If I may ask, is there any wisdom lighting up a candle in a room that is already flooded with dazzling lights? See Matt. 9:13. A room that is enveloped in darkness will remain in thick darkness until someone steps in and light up a candle, the brightness of the light would then out dazzle the darkness. We can only win souls by having contact with our audience, sharing the good news with them verbally or through the print or electronic media. The light, (this is the righteous) must have communion of the gospel with the unbeliever who is also known as the darkness. In our bid to provide answers to our topic, let us now break down 2Cor. 6:14 which is our text of study and let us try to understand the meaning of some words contained there in. So now, let's look at the words below:

A. Yoked together: this means, to be joined together (with sinners) with the mindset of doing evil. See 1Jn. 1:6, Rom 1:18, 21-22, 27-28, 32.

B. Fellowship: Means a feeling of friendship between people who do things together or share an interest: See this as a case study. Acts 8:26-35, Jn. 10:16, Acts 10:28-35, Jn. 6:37, Matt. 9:10-13.

C. Communion: To commune means to talk with someone, it means the state of sharing and exchanging thoughts and feelings. See Act 8:26-35, Acts 10:30-35, Rom. 10:17, Lk. 19:5, 9-10.

D. Righteousness: This refers to any genuinely born again Christian who remains steadfast in Christ, a Christian who does the commandments of God, such a person is not only our Lord's friend, he is the righteousness of God in Christ Jn. 15:14-15, 2Cor. 5:21.

E. Light: See the scriptural definition and personification of the word light in Jn. 9:5, Jn. 8:12, Jn.12:46, 1Jn. 1:5, 1Thess. 5:5.

F. The Unrighteous: This refers to the sinners, the unrepented souls, the wicked agents of Satan Ps. 1:5-6, Act. 8:9, 18-21. Now, tell me how can these group of persons hear the good news and receive salvation, how can they believe and call the name of the Lord without you and I sharing the good news with them? See Rom. 10;13-15, 1Cor.9:19-22.

G. Darkness: This symbolizes the unbelievers, the sinners or Satan himself. So now that you are a believer, also known as the children of the light, your father the light shines in darkness. Jn.1:5, 1Thess. 5:5, your father has equipped you to also shine in darkness, saying in Jn. 14:12, Mk. 16:15-16, Jn. 20:21. So, there is need for you the light, also known as the righteous to have fellowship and communion with the sinners who are also know as unbelievers or darkness. But in doing these, divine wisdom is required. Read Matt. 10:16, 1Cor.9:19-22, Pro.11:30, Dan.12:3. Thank you and God bless you.
