We were made to believe that down syndrome is as a result of nemesis, punishment or consequences of someones wickedness. What do i even know?

@admin that's a very bad ideology.. It not at all... Don't think God can punish anyone with such.. It's heartbreaking to have such a baby

   Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when abnormal cells division results in extra genetic material from chromosomes 21...Down syndrome varies based on the severity among individuals.. 

It cause a lifelong intellectual disabilities and developmental delays. .It's the most common genetic chromosomal disorder and cause of learning disabilities in children

Flattened face

Small head

Short neck

Protruding tongue 

Upward slanting eye lids 

 small ears

Poor muscle tone

Short hands with a single crease in d palm

Short fingers, small hands and feet 

Excessive flexibility 

Short height

They grow slowly yet remain shorter than other children of the same age

              Is It  hereditary?  

   Most times down syndrome isn't inherited. It is caused by a mistake in cell division during early development of fetus 

         However , it's only about 3 to 4 percent of children with down syndrome inherited it from there parents.. Especially when the parents has translocation. .

     Yes, down syndrome cannot be prevented. .But if you feel your at high risk of having a child with down syndrome or the parents is translocation or have one child with down syndrome already. .Before getting pregnant consult a genetic Dr...
